Why Inner Child Healing is Important When We Lose a Parent We all carry wounds from our childhood, even if we believe that we had a wonderful childhood. All of us have wounds that we hide from ourselves. These wounds can be minor and seem insignificant. And yet they can interfere with our ability to move past our current grief.
As you connect with your Inner Child, you will tap into spontaneity and wonder. You will crack through the armor that you have built around your heart.
With an Awakened Heart, it is easier to access the Child’s Imagination, spontaneity and innocence.
Releasing the past and stepping into a state of Renewal.
Here are three steps to connect with your Inner Child.
1. First, take 20 minutes, find a quiet space where you will not be interrupted.
2. Second, with a photo of you that carries deep meaning, or reminds you of a time you struggled as a child, settle into a meditation which really just means that you are relaxed, with your eyes closed and comfortable.
3. Third, as you relax, connect with that child in you that is represented in the photo. For me, dropping into my heart is the simplest way to connect with my Inner Child. Ask your inner child if there is a message for you.
Be patient. If you do not receive a message, do not give up. Come back another time and keep trying with no effort to connect. Always end your meditation by embracing your Inner Child and sending unconditional love.
So, there you have it. That’s exactly how I started connecting with my Inner Child to heal after my father died.
